From director J.J. Abrams (”Mission: Impossible III,” “Lost” and “Alias”) and screenwriters Alex Kurtzman & Roberto Orci (”TRANSFORMERS,” “MI: III”) comes a new vision of the greatest space adventure of all time, “Star Trek,” featuring a young, new crew venturing boldly where no man has gone before.

Explores the early Starfleet careers of future Enterprise officers Kirk (Chris Pine), Spock (Zachary Quinto), Scotty (Simon Pegg), Amanda Grayson (Winona Ryder), Uhura (Zoe Saldana), McCoy (Karl Urban), Sulu (John Cho), and Chekhov (Anton Yelchin). A Romulan, Nero (Eric Bana), and a much older Spock (Leonard Nimoy) are influences, as well as Captain Pike (Bruce Greenwood), the first captain of the USS Enterprise.

  6. xSpectatoronex Says:

Star Trek is aobut big ideas. I hope this isn’t just gonna be a bunch of sexy special effects and action dumped on the screen.

  7. Stacha1991 Says:

He did, apparently the ‘t’ in James T. Kirk stands for Siberius. That isn’t quite ‘logical’.

  8. puffrooster Says:

    Did he say “Siberius”?

  9. firehillqueen Says:

I will go watch this then decide if I like it or not as an old time trek fan.

  10. savagenoble7 Says:

guy who wrote this wrote transformers. please don’t fuck this up. please don’t fuck this up. FOR THE LOVE OF GOD THIS WILL BE REALLY COOL IF YOU DON’T FUCK IT UP!

  11. kaltblut Says:

For the Star Trek franchise to remain successful it has to change somewhat, since trying to enhance it with new crews didn’t work anymore, why not renew old crews? it’s just a movie! you don’t have to watch it if you dont want to ;)

  12. Actually321A Says:

I’m looking forward to it. Some of you people need to get a life…geez!

Star Trek is not a religion to be defended. It’s just, and always was, a comic book serial. Lighten up!

  13. jarrett2005x Says:

I love that transporter sound at the end. And like the way Spock was beamed down on that planet.

  14. csf969 Says:

And, btw, IS that supposed to be Kirk & Uhura at around 1:43?? Damn, I hope not — I have more respect for her character than that.

And I TRULY hope that they finally give secondary characters like Sulu, Chekov & Uhura great storylines & moments - especially Uhura - she was essentially totally ignored in TOS, she never even had a first name until this movie.

  15. csf969 Says:

Yeah, well, GOD IS IN THE DETAILS. It’s going to be very tough for Paramount to tread that fine line b/t attracting a new, young, vivacious audience AND keeping the original fans happy - I don’t envy them. The cast does seems well-chosen.
However I’m a huge fan of the original bridge design - it was ahead of its time then and now — I feel like it could have been modified subtly but powerfully instead of being turned into what looks like an L.A. Oxygen/Sushi Bar. Wrong, just wrong…

  16. arthereld Says:

    Sounds sexy.

  17. MDSakamoto Says:

It is blatantly a starship cock-wrangler.

  18. daggerrun Says:

Hey look on the bright side. At least Shia LeBeof’s not in it!

  19. Dornenfisch Says:

Its shit when children play the classic crew.
    Also the terrible handcamera.

  20. donnarubin Says:

    I might see it.

  21. PAULina391 Says:

im a huge ST fan and i think it looks good. there will be some continuity problems but those are present through all 5 series as the show progressed. when dealing with a 40 yr old show that cant be helped. the plot was never the main focus in ST, but when putting it on the big screen it has to appeal to the general public. the movies were always a different kind of ST but never the main focus. the show will always be there no matter what the movies do and i think thats how Gene felt as well.

  22. fte209 Says:

If you look at the first trailer it looks like it might be the same location, and the dude welding is has no space suit on

  23. blastardinc Says:

Looks like an an action flick with a Star Trek skin stretched over it. Nice cast of impostors. This is going to be the end of me being a fan.
Should have been a new Dominion super war with a huge return cast. Fuuuuuck this.

  24. DaftStrings Says:

Let me say that I’ve seen a lot of comments left by non-fans who are going to see this. This is awesome! Again, I hope it won’t be too star wars like or badly un-cannon. I need to see if the Okuda’s are involved in production. They’d prevent a total raping of trek. J.J. should know not to piss off the fan base.

  25. DaftStrings Says:

I agree. They essentially wasted their time with ST 9 and 10. Am I the only one that’s worried it looks like star wars 2 and 3? The action was immaculate but the characters and script was fecal matter. “Anakin, you’re hurting me!” for example. I can only hope ST 11 is better, I’m a life long fan, but judgeing from the past films, I’m skeptical
